PUBLIC SPACES
RUFFEY LAKE PARK, VICTORIA STREET PLAYGROUND
RUBBLE designed and re-built the playspace at Victoria Street Playground. Based off the original design RUBBLE modernised the play space based around the original Hummel Tower.
The giant play tower at Victoria Street playground was inspired by Manningham’s historic Doncaster Tower built by Alfred Hummel in 1879 and located at the top of Doncaster Hill. Although the tower was demolished in 1914, its legacy continues at Victoria Street playground.
GOOLIGULCH PLAYGROUND, WONGA PARK
Based on the 1988 popular children’s book by Graeme Base ‘My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch’, this themed playground was lovingly restored to it’s former glory with help from Manningham Council, Geoff Cunningham (artist) and Rubble Landscapes.
DUDLEY ROAD RESERVE, WONGA PARK
Created through Manningham council as the CFA meeting point, the materials used were carefully selected to have low to no fire risk. Succulent garden and contrasting gravels with rock to help create a welcome and dynamic space for families.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, MELBOURNE
An updated space for the department of justice to help better utilise this communal area whilst providing robust, timeless and low-maintenance function.

SWANTON RESERVE SKATEPARK, BULLEEN
The Snake Run constructed in Swanston Street Reserve c.1985 and upgraded in 2014, this design proposal shows an additional street skate area with basketball court and custom street furniture.
